A new stream and fixing explosive barrels


The demo of MechGears got picked for a stream by D757Gaming! The experience was a bit between exciting and worrysome as i didnt knew if my project is to standards so i went to watch quietly as someone went into my demo whitout any clue what they were going to find.

Needless to say it wasnt a smooth run, mainly because i forgot i deleted the code from the explosive barrels in culling the unused events and code from the main project to the demo, sorry about that, the code has been re-implemented and now barrels explode properly!

I didnt expect for D7 to actually sit through the whole thing but he did! He struggled with the first boss battle (as everyone does apparently) which requires to actually use items, skills... or just hide in the safe hall and take potshots! This boss is the main reason i decided to add an "Easy" difficulty mode as some players dont seem so familiar with the idea of comboing skills, normal attacks and items, easy mode will probably be carried to the main game but ill need proper testing on that.

All in all it was a pretty nice experience to see someone else clear your game (or part of it in this case) and got a lot of good insigts on balancing, things that need fixing and of course, how fun the game is, even if you dont master the whole systems.

I still need more fixes and adjustments to do, maybe some balancing issues but most importantly, make sure barrels explode.
